About Us

Quality ACT

Quality ACT: Alternative Certified Teachers was founded on the sole belief that an Alternative Certification program should be based on fully preparing professionals for teaching in today's classroom environment.

Our Mission

To provide an opportunity for degreed professionals to impact the future by successfully teaching the students of Texas. A strong emphasis on quality will be exemplified in the recruitment, professional development, and support of our teacher interns.

Core beliefs:

All children can learn and deserve the highest quality teachers in order to help them attain their goals.

Teachers will be provided instructional tools to work with diverse learners.

Recruitment of dedicated, highly motivated, qualified teachers is critical to the continuous improvement of the profession.

Professional development needs to be research-based, best practices to ensure the highest level of training.

In building strong collaboratives with the community, school districts, and colleges and universities, we are committed to maximizing the potential of our program for our teachers and ultimately their students.

Instruction will be delivered by master teachers and curriculum designers who model high quality instructional practices.

A well-structured mentoring program which supports teachers beyond the induction year of teaching is imperative to ensure retention and job satisfaction.

IN THE NEWS:  School Supply Drive!

Over 125 first year teachers from Quality ACT, alternative certification for teachers program located in Irving, TX, recently brought school supplies to their summer preparation class to assist the children in our Irving community. Over 100 pounds of school supplies were collected and taken to an Irving Fire Station, which was a drop off point for Irving School District school supply drive. The teachers in Quality ACT teach in Irving schools along with other public and private schools in the North Texas area. Although first year teachers face many challenges, they felt it was important to demonstrate that they still have time to think of others that are less fortunate. With these difficult economic times and the extra expenses of school starting right around the corner, which has put additional stress on families this fall,  these teachers hope to make some of these struggles less daunting for their students and their families with the large donation of school supplies for students.

Quality ACT is located here in Irving in the Las Colinas business center. Pictured is the class of 2010, along with the Executive Director of the program, long-time Irving resident, Rosemary Robbins.
