How do I become certified in
Texas? We can help you do
the following:

ACT alternative certification
program. Acceptance is based on
transcript review & approval. A

2) Take and pass the TExES
content exam. Follow the link
on the first page of our website
for PACT registration.
3) Secure a teaching
position approved by Quality
ACT and teach successfully for
one year under a probationary
certificate (internship year).
|
• Before teaching
attend the Quality Act
Summer Institute in July
at night and ongoing
professional development
on two Saturday’s during
the school year.

What is the deadline for
applying?
Our application process is
ongoing. Once an
application packet is
received, the best and
quickest route to
certification is then
determined. The best months
for applying are September
thru March. We want you to
have time to complete your
observations (30 hours) and
pass your content test
before the Job Fairs begin
in April.
-
When and where are your
classes held?
All classes are held in the
evenings and on Saturdays in
a centrally located area in
the metroplex and are held
in July at night. This is
so you can keep your daytime
job! Specific dates and
times of the Pedagogy and
Professional
Responsibilities Summer
Institute will be posted on
the Quality ACT website.
-
What does Quality ACT
provide?
• Face-to-face
professional support through
the entire process.
• We provide preparation
by master teachers for TExES
exams as well as extensive
mentoring during your
internship year and beyond,
if necessary.
• Our Summer Institute
provides an intensive four
week workshop in pedagogy
and professional
responsibilities to prepare
you for your exams.
-
Does Quality ACT guarantee a
teaching position for its
interns?
While we receive information
on job openings in districts
throughout the metroplex and
make that information
available to our interns, it
is the interns’
responsibility to secure
their own teaching
positions.
